As in people who really don't have a genuine love for the art...and are just in it to get famous and make the said genre disposable by releasing material strictly for Billboard and top 40, mainstream radio?

Even though the question was poorly worded, its nebulosity to me is pretty apparent. The thread starter is simply saying is there any other genre, aside from hip hop, where yo will find its artists performing it mainly for money related purposes. And my answer to that question is, yes. Pretty much every dj and producer making "electro-house" currently is in it for the money. as that pretty much is the mainstream "elecronic dance" sound and many dj's doing it now weren't doing it before. also the majority of emo music u can say the same for also. as most of it is disposable and will not be around in the next 2 or 3 years

Rock is like that too, there were alot of people who got into it for the rock and roll lifestyle. I also think alot of rappers come from poor backgrounds and that's why the genre is permeated with money, jewelry,cars, hoes,etc topic. A big problem with URBAN MUSIC imo is there arent really true artist, alot of these singers don't play instruments or write their own music, and alot of these rappers dont make beats. Then you get to a point where everyone is using the same producers and writers (Timbaland,The Dream, Tricky,Kanye,etc) and all the music becomes redundant.
