Lil Waynes been acting white for the past 4 years lol

on a serious note...Its just the extremes that get under my skin..when a black chick frowns her face up @ all things ethnic just to fit in with her "O.C." white friends.

or the white girl who always sayin, "I'm uncomfortable around all these snow bunnies!"

take the whole paradigm shift in hiphop...

hiphop is now emo...

No longer is it popular for bw to say I need a "strong bm" smh..

they want to "expand their horizons" (expanding horizons meaning find a white man)

and Im noticing the white men no longer overtly act black since bw want white men now.

I see nothing wrong with inter-racial dating, but doing so because society pushes that on you is re-dick-less!

(ventured into another topic tho)

*shrug*

i can dig Du's sentiment..

every ethnic group oppresses itself. it's just that in the past 500 years we've been horrible at it because our leadership doesn't know how to do it right.

he is prone to hyperbole...

the shit's not an exxageration though...if one believes the biggest negative influence amongst black people is the mindest of black people...can you really blame that on any one else...other than ...black people?

how to do what right?

there's a profit to be made when you're at the front of the pack...

people point the fingers at rappers and other negative influences in the black community as leaders....

but guess what?.. they eating....their kids aren't falling victim to the things that thier fans will...

*people in general arent comfortable in their own skin*

walking into a higher end boutique or waiting in an elevator with just one white woman clutching her purse tends to remind me that Im still a nigga.

I tell white people , "Im not really black.. my skins just dirty."

*shrugs*

.....then thinks about and gets aggy...

that belief cannot be supported by any empirical evidence...

seriously?

all one has to do is be observant, watch trends, listen to people when they talk....pick up on things that are very apparent in everyday life.....

pick out the exceptions... look to see if what they did was actually exceptional or not....

if person A and person B were given all the same oppertunities, tools, and encouragement... what was the difference between one making it and the other failing??

is it really luck? is it really some consipircacy? was it something personal, or malcicious working against them?

or does it come down to time and time again, that the exception to every negative outlook on black people was that someone just worked a bit harder?

The rich want you to separate yourselves based on race and class so you won't realize that they're the real problem.

Now back to your regularly scheduled programming.

anecdotes and personal observation are not good enough to back up the claims you so often make.

there is a side of my family that is working poor...

there is a side that is affluent...

the difference between them is not "hard work"...

it is a combination of things...

when you say "black folks oppress themselves", that is simplistic and cannot be backed up by anything other than your interpretation of the people you come in contact with...

let me ask you this:

how are you defining oppression?

i'm defining opression as in a force or something that has the control or ability to hold a person back from what they truly want to do....

like if my child wants to go outside and play, and i'm the parent in authority, and i prevent them from going outside.... my child can truly say i am oppressing them...of course this is in a smaller scale.. but in the claim of widespread operession of an entire race.

black people feel that we are an oppressed race, that something is holding us back from going where they want to go, and it is my beleif that the only thing that is holding us back is the beleif that we are being held back....we are oppressing ourselves with the mindest that someone else is in control and is not allowingus to succeed...

we feel like someone else is to blame for our current condition, we refuse to look at ourselves,

and we constantly look for an external solution for an internal problem.....

there are far too many examples of blacks who over came this "oppression" for it to considered a legtimate excuse any longer...

no one wil ever deny that things are fucking difficult for a black youth gowing up in poverty....however once they let their condidition consume them, they can't blame their enviorment..because like i said far too many achived more with less...

how many great people in this country were born slaves?

like not mental slaves like niggaz today..i'm talk sho nuff....nigga you gotta go to work today, and you ain't getting paid, and ain't shit u can say about it, and we know you ain't even hit puberty yet slave....

i just aint buying it no more....
