I havent listened to Redman in years...last album I had was Malpractice, I liked it for a minute, then stopped listening to it and put it back on last summer and couldnt make it past a few songs..Never dug Fat Joe, definitely agree with Cam, the kid can keep up! He did himself huge favors when he cut ties with Jimmy and Juelz, he is designed to be a solo artist...

Dont know if I can agree with Nas, hes been struggling sinse It was Written, lets be honest...KRS and Rakim are elder statesmen, cant really include them in this. Im talking about cats that are still willing to get in the ring (ie compete for radio spins) and still hold onto their integrity...Masta Killa definitely came thru for the Wu when every 1 else was in a slump..

AZ is way more consistent with everything, especially for beats..album for album AZ trumps Nas hands down...initally it wasnt as much with radio viability thatkind of came up later...I just cosigned kid with Masta Killa cuz he has kept his wieght up but I c your point..

Masta killa barely does a enough work to even still be considered active. Peedi Crakk has fell into the abyss of youtube rapper. You cant consider these dudes as having aged well. If you think AZ is the better artist I have no problem with that but Nas is still relevant while AZ (as nice as he is) will never get any type of radio play anymore unless Nas throws him a bone. Hell you heard his latest single? He name dropping like game now

people mix up az being bland and predictable for consistancy. and az's third album is worse than any nas album. there's no variety in his music. aziatic was bland and he's been using that same beat formula since. his next album should be called aziatic 6 not doe or die 2.

Wait, now I'm confused. Is this thread about music that was made in the 90s and is still good today, or is it about 90s artist who still makes music today that is comparable to what they made in the 90s.

If it's the former, my first post stands. If it's the latter, then I'd have to say nobody. That's not to say that no artist from the 90s makes good music now, but honestly none of them are making music on the level of what they did back then IMO.

i've heard more az than most, and he is by far top 5 blandest artists ever. he always uses that smooth production, and same type of delivery/voice every track. 9 lives was worse than nastradamus and streets disciple, and is az's worst album by far. his best are doe or die, pieces of a man, and aziatic.

at this point i dont even know, so lets say both. I think raekwons music stands with his past work. I mean, sure, the all rza produced debut is hard to live up to, but hes handling it quite well now after years of missteps
