I like Odd Future too but let's be real life about this; The Wu had members who could hold their own with the best of emcees during the greatest era (some say) of Hip Hop. Who in Odd Future is even a factor lyrically besides two maybe three of them (Earl, Hodgy, and Domo)?

Nope.

For the simple fact that Wu Tang has a handful of classics from multiple artist in the group.

You think Wu Tang, you could think Ghost, another person Rea, another person Meth, etc.

Most of the members in the Wu has made their names known.

Off top, how many artist can you name in Odd Future?

Exactly.

Frank Ocean

Well, they have only been well known for a year, so not many people will know who they are, and most of them are under 21, so they have a lot of time to grow as long as they don't fall off.

so we're comparing the two because they are a large group of guys that rap? why don't we compare the ASAP group to the Wu as well then? Half the muthafuckas in Odd Future don't even rap, and who was the Frank Ocean of the Wu? ODB?

Let's be real though, ODB >>>>> All of Odd Future put together.

I know Frank's a singer, thats why I mentioned ODB. Cause he's the closest thing to a singer in the Wu

to be real people compare Odd Future and Wu-Tang mainly because of :

Group Size. Energy. Cult Following.

There's a lot of differences, particularly the fact they originate from L.A.

They created sub-groups such as MellowHype and EarlWolf

and They have more than just rappers in the group, hence that white boy Lucas that's on the cover of

their latest release.

i wouldn't compare them because Wu Tang pioneered a different style to hip-hop, they're more rugged

and street and is more lyrical than Odd Future, for the exception of Earl Sweatshirt.

as far as the comparison in appearance, come-up, and influence, i can see some similarities.

such as they both got a large 10-11 member group, they both came out with a different essence of style.

Wu-Tang just happened to have more of an impact because their sound wasn't heard of before.

Odd Future started to garner more attention because of their "don't give a fuck, Outlandish, Obnoxious/shock" attitude

at a time in hip-hop where everything sounded the same, at at the same time that's when artists like Cole, Krit and Kendrick started to break out too...

and apart of that, they're radical and wild energy and how they've used their brand to garner a cult following.
