Like i said, he ain't the most lyrical, but who is really making noise these days? who are labels tryin sign, what kinda artists are they tryna sign these days? these are all things that need to be looked at, specially considering recent trends in the hip hop industry, so i don't know what you expected from dude, he created a big ass buzz and been eating by hisself for a while now...if you expected some cannibus type rapper, well those ain't really making no noise right now, all you have to do is look at the industry and see who's really gettin play like that, and to give him credit he's been hustling, hence all the buzz he was able to generate without being signed to any one.
