For 1, these are based on real life events. No one "reeled in" Escobar, ever. He blew up a fucking plane while Gustavo was alive.

It wasnt really Gustavo dying, it was him being in jail that escalated his already notorious temper. Like he wouldn't have killed them if Gustavo was berathiny, aftwr he found out dude was allegedly complaining about him, AND it came out in front of his own family. Nigga please

Again, Gustavo is a nice lil auxillary piece---as was the fictional Rolla---however he is inconsequential to the trajectory of this fascinating show. Once again, you are my son.

If gustavo was in jail with him or on the outside looking out for him who knows what woulda happened. But pablo being off the rails after his death and killing kiko and that other dude was what set up the government going after him in the first place. Gustavo woulda had something reasonable to say in the meeting about the money tho. Might coulda stopped the entire confrontation in the first place.
