I looked into this Hacksaw Ridge movie..never heard of it.

It's quite the cast, Mel Gibson is only directing.

While Mel Gibson is a complete racist douchebag, it's not against any laws to be a vocally racist douchebag. The fact that he was a raging alky at the time probably helped his case, but you can't act like he wasn't blackballed for many years.

I agree that Woody Allen is a better comparison, or even that French director that fled after his crimes and continues to make movies.
