Nas, for the simple fact that he has more material. They are 1 and 2 for me.

This will eventually get moved to the Face Off Forum btw

Two completely different artists.
As far as rapper Nas is.
Pac was a great rapper in his own rite but he is remembered for so much more than that.

IMO pac makes better music than nas

nas on the mic is a monster, but his song making ability, hit records is nowhere close to pac

you compare aeom to nas's double album street disciple, pac wins hands now

nas = greatest writer of all times, however theres more to a song than lyrics, pac had just about everything in each department to collectively put him overall above all other hip hop artists IMO

nas top 3 to me,

pac at 25 was ahead of most of these lil niggas, that comes from nas own mouth

I cant agree with that. How is Pac the better artist?

Say what you want about Pac but the man knew how to put a hot ass track together. He had the ear for beats, he knocked down classic hooks like it aint nothing, and he might be the rapper with the strongest mic presence ever. Pac was never as lyrical as Nas and Nas is superior in terms of technical skills and storystelling and all that but Pac always managed to make that music that could connect to the mainstream and to every rap purist at the same time (California Love, Life Goes On, All Eyez On Me, Picture Me Rollin...). Thats what made him so special imho.

Nas in terms of an emcee...

Pac in terms of an overall artist and song writer. He didn't have the emceeing capability of a lot of Artists but he was able to craft all types of songs, incredibly versatile and relatable.

If I'm choosing an album to play though, it'd always be Illmatic over a 2pac album.

Difficult comparison but because I'm a fan of straight rhyming and the fact that he has an unmistakeable classic, which is arguably untrue about 2pac, I'd say Nas (this is in measure of every track being perfect on an album, not in reference to the classic albums that seem to drop regularly in the reason).

pac had more classics

pac was what nas wanted 2 be

1. Ehhh MATW and AEOM just cause of the competition of double albums is Pac's only classics imo so I beg to differ on that.

2. You dont know that. Illmatic had 0 Pac influence and is a legit arguable top 5 rap album of all time.

I agree. I dont see the argument here but that doesnt mean he's a better artist then Nas.
