DC's is mainly a gogo city, but rap wise I'd say "Folarin" by Wale, cuz it's heavily influenced by gogo.

"tell me where yall from" has started 90% of all fights at the gogos

Id say for Chicago....Common s Resurrection....from the heavy Chicago s lyrics he mentions Hyde Park,87th, Leon s BBQ to the jazz and blues sample Chicago was very important in the development of jazz and blues

NY niggas plz refrain from dropping Illmatic, we know.....

Whelp. See you next thread then.

Naw come w it and why?

It wasn't like we was in dry spell or any new artist wasn't dropping. It was just illmatic was something different. 36 chambers was dope and black moon was representing NY hard. But illmatic was something otherworldly. That shit had everything. Wordplay, lyrics, production to boot.

I mean what more could you ask for at the time. That shit embodied NYC to the fullest. And this ain't even my favorite hip hop album. But I won't deny that it is the best. Short and sweet.

Classic.

E. 1999 Eternal probably. Close second, and criminally underrated was Ray Cash's Cash on Delivery. Shit captured Cleveland perfectly.

Both Krit and Banner make music that represents and describes Mississippi, but I'm going to go with Banner's, Mississippi the Album. Pimping, Interaction with these racist whites, the car culture, faith, and the struggle & harsh realities that come with living in the state are all covered in this album.

Even the production was Sip like with the beats being soulful, and influenced by the blues. Harmonizing takes place on a lot of the songs. Krits, Krit Wuz Here is a close second.

Boston isn't much of a hotspot for music, but I can honestly say that Poison by Bell Biv Devoe is the song that will get any dance floor packed at any party regardless of age.

this album was not only great, but caught the true grittiness and essence of east london, and well the youth all over london. I guess it dropped just before everyone thought it was cool to be a hipster, and before men were slowly emasculating themselves.
