"Man on Fire" is better. The storyline is pretty good and Fanning and Denzel have good chemistry. "Taken" on the other hand just seems like violence for the sake of violence. At some point, the dude just seemd too good. I got the same feeling watching him DESTROY everybody as I did watching Steven Seagal movies: the opposition is no challenge.

Man on fire is in my top five movies, shit was epic. I love the soundtrack too, and the ending is a goat ending, nigga had to hold back a tear.

"In the church, they say to forgive" "Forgiveness is between them and God. It's my job to arrange the meeting"

Taken.....shit im crapping on Denzels films right now...but Taken is more realistic as the sex trade is alive and well in europe, man on fire is good as well but Taken is much better.

i think man on fire was directed and produced a lot better they shouldn't have taken out the sex scene with Denzel and the girls' mother I think ttaht would have made the plot better.

I would go with Taken Just overall better action and ass kicking sometimes for me that beats out a better plot

Man on Fire is a far better film. Much more of a cohesive and entertaining plot. Denzel and Fanning also had great chemistry together.

both great movies... the visualization of man on fire was way better.. hw they had the scenes and the camera traicks and angles.. and was reall gritty

taken was jus as good tho... i could watch any of those all day.. but if i had to choose.. i would say man on fire... how he sacrificed his self at the end for the lil girl and the twist aboutt he pops being a part of it... and he did do all that while he was slowly dying..

Man on Fire. Washington is a far superior actor, and MOF had better character development and pathos.
Then again, action movies aren't about character development so maybe that's why I don't prefer Taken.

the Masterpiece line was one for the ages..

For some reason, everytime I saw Christopher Walken in that movie, it seemed like that nigga was licking his fingers like he just got done eating barbecue ribs or something. Had me laughing when I would spot that.

Like you said, mad quotables in "Man on Fire"... Like when he told the dude with the bomb in his butt, "Where am I going? I'm leaving...." "One wish? I wish.... you had.... more time...."

Taken was cool, but man on fire was a lot better. Far deeper, and far more complex. It was was way more than just liam neeson banging guys heads on walls. When dakota fanning is running across the bridge and creasey is walking towards her I get chills every time.

Fair point, but what is deeper than a man hearing his Daughter get kidnapped and then finding out she is being sold into a sex slave ring ( that shit is rife n Europe ), your going to bang heads if you have the means.

In Europe, since the fall of the Iron Curtain, the impoverished former Eastern bloc countries such as Albania, Moldova, Bulgaria, Russia, Belarus and Ukraine have been identified as major trafficking source countries for women and children.[27][28] Young women and girls are often lured to wealthier countries by the promises of money and work and then reduced to sexual slavery.[29] It is estimated that two thirds of women trafficked for prostitution worldwide annually come from Eastern Europe, three-quarters of whom have never worked as prostitutes before.[30][31] The major destinations are Western Europe, Turkey, the Middle East (Israel, the United Arab Emirates), Asia, Russia and the United States.[32][3

2/3 of women come from Eastern Europe.. so im sure if his daughter was lured into that world she would be lost forever plus he heard her getting napped....

Man on Fire. The storyline and acting was better. I enjoy both movies, but Taken is a little forced in some places. The girl who gets taken is annoying.
