Mic was never street like that as far as an artist. Now in real life - who knows, but that wouldnt matter either way. Dude wasnt a hardcore rapper like that. I think you're assuming that based on his Irv affiliation.

Also, he was on small as TVT-records. They were a small ass company so i'm sure he had to make something to sell. This was his 2nd album, you think his album would've done better if he didn't try to ride this wave? Maybe it was a label move, or maybe not. But it's 1 song, just like Jigga's "Sunshine".

I mean he ain't have an album until 6 years later, and on another label. So i'm sure it was politics.

Before clicking this thread I knew it would be this track. I didn't hate that track like most heads did. I actually liked that album and not every track was on that jiggy sh*t.

I remember when he came out a few years before he jumped on that jiggy sh*t heads said he was biting Nas. No matter what you do there's always people who are not gonna be feeling it. I liked him but it's w/e.

You won't get no denial from me that Jay-z tried this too with Sunshine, same shit with Nas with Hate Me Now. Only niggas who didn't jump on that trend was WU, BCC, and niggas like Jeru.
