Anyone seen this? I don't like critiquing a movie right away on the first watch.

I wanted to see it til I saw Ben Affleck was in it...not a fan of his acting at all.

And it's also a Dennis Lehane book....not really a fan of his stories either.

If the consensus is that it's fire I'll check it out...

I thought it was pretty good but felt like it was missing something to make it a great film.

A lot happened but at the same time it didn't. Wish it had more gun play and developed some of the side characters a little more. It was sort of Affleck and everyone else. It actually had some funny moments also had some racist moments too but I guess that's to be expected. It was the Prohibition era.

That's what it is! They didn't do much with the gangster lifestyle. You didn't get the sense they were doing anything illegal in the second half of the film is where it was supposed to pick up. It didn't really pick up but it was still a good movie.

I want to watch this but everyone i've spoken to has said it's just about mediocre and that Affleck dropped the ball on this one.

I felt like they skimmed through what could've been the best scenes. Ending was kinda cool though
