Welp

It turns out rapper Kodak Black won't be getting out of jail as soon as expected, the Broward Sheriff's Office says.

According to a Broward Sheriff's spokeswoman, it was discovered during the process of releasing Black from the Broward Main Jail in downtown Fort Lauderdale after his court hearing Tuesday that the rapper had two active arrest warrants.

"One of them is a no-bond hold," said Joy Oglesby. "At this point he's still going to be in jail. He's not going to be released."

The 19-year-old Pompano Beach rapper, whose real name is Dieuson Octave, was sentenced to a year of house arrest and five years of probation by Judge Lisa Porter in a hearing in a Fort Lauderdale courtroom on Tuesday.

He was to be released after the hearing.

Now, with the discovery of the two active warrants, that won't be happening.

The court on Tuesday was filled with supporters, and one Atlantic Records executive, Michael Kushner, told the court that Octave had a bright future as a recording artist.

Octave had been facing numerous charges including possession of a firearm by a delinquent, among others -- charges which carried a maximum sentence of 55 years.

Oglesby said she didn't yet have further information about the warrants, except for the fact one was issued out of St. Lucie County, Florida, and the other out of Florence, South Carolina.

It wasn't yet clear why the warrants were discovered during the release process.

He's not getting out

[UPDATE: August 17, 2016] Kodak Black will not be freed from jail after authorities found two more warrants when the Florida rapper was being processed for release, the Sun-Sentinel reports.

One of the warrants was a “no-bond hold,” which means he has to stay behind bars. The warrants were from St. Lucie County, Florida and Florence, South Carolina.

The rapper was supposed to be released yesterday or today after a judge accepted his no contest plea to multiple charges. He was sentenced to a year of house arrest followed by five years probation.
