Not happening. But I wouldn't be opposed to joint savings for obvious reasons.

Me and my girl have one and also have our own separate account. Every pay check we put half of it in the joint where that's used for bills and other stuff for the household. Our separate account we do as we please with it

whats the point?
No point at all in having joint checking. It's just like marriage. Doin' that shit because it looks good.

that's when I did it and it's been working out just fine for us. Communication is key.

^^^^This. The joint back account is strictly for bill money. Rent, daycase expenses, etc. Works out great for us.

ya'll got them shits with ya lady/man

how's it workin out??

We got the joint account right before we got married. I understand why most people don't do it, lack of trust or feeling as if it will be a mess if they were to break up. But being married it makes sense, we pay the same bills and spend the same money, so a joint account just makes things easier. Also it drop any argument that may come from someone making more then the other, or someone wanting to spend money like they don't have other responsibilities to take care of as a family.

It forces communication too, If there is anything I want to spend on myself that would cost more then $100 bucks and vice versa, we will let the other know before making that purchase. That way there are no secrets, and we both know what's going out and what's coming in. When you have seperate accounts in a marriage, the idea of not feeling you need to explain yourself for every large purchase will be there, and it's real easy to keep your s/o in the dark about the money you may have or have stashed away somewhere.

Don't do it.

Basically, either party can empty the account without the other person's permission and it's totally legal because both people own the account.

Ol boy's tryin to get in your pockets.

you said that like im ballin :-/
