I think it's short sighted and ignorant to dump the homie into a 90's time machine. I think dude is a breath of fresh air in that he is holding true to NY's sound. It's interesting that other MC's from other parts of the country don't get thrown into the same box. Most of the south's production hasn't changed much, and neither has the west coast.

I don't see how the homie is getting dogged for being a NY artist who actually sounds like he's from NY.

I fucks with it. I could careless that he sound like he from the past, he's fresh enough to move the game forward. At least he not rocking a meek mill/ace hood, drake, 2chain, etc flow. Niggas stale outchea.

Don't see an issue with 'throwback' artists. They have them in other genres and forms of media. Why not rap?

Why label the homie a throwback though?

Why not just Nice or Whack?

he's nice, but my issue with him is his whole "real hip hop" image, his "real hip hop fans", his admission to being a Lil Wayne/Young Money stan until recently, and people overrating the hell out of him

What you mean?

People that say they'd "listen to 90's golden era shit not some kid trynna emulate it" don't make sense to me. Maybe thats how the nigga wants to rap. Anyways Bada$$ dope. His recent shit hasn't been as good as 1999 imo but I think his album will be dope

its bullshit. you can't admit your a lilwayne/drake stan and then come out repping that "real hip hop" 'fuck the industry" "fuck the radio" nonsense because you heard a MF Doom joint once. he's like a youtube commenter. its not genuine and i wouldn't be surprised if it was a marketing gimmick.
