I've finally come to totally respect Cats that aren't "lyrical/spitters" but possess "talent".......

Yeah that's the intangibles. They put their shit together well. Nore & Jim Jones are like that for me, as MCs they are terrible but as characters their music is funny and entertaining...strangely enough they get their point across without even being moderately lyrical.

fuck a future. wheres the last southern nigga that was only good for hooks? all future songs trash

that hook shit only gonna get u so far before niggas move on to the next person. ask Roscoe Dash

I listen to a lot of rappers that don't fit the prototypical MC mold.

What they lack in lyrics though, they make up with charisma.

I think Jeezy would be a perfect example. This dude don't say shit in half his songs but it sounds hot.

Young Jeezy

A$AP Rocky

Curren$y

I would hate to listen to niggas that are just lyrical and can't construct songs all day, shit would get boring as fuuckkk

so u would rather listen to somebody rapping about literally nothing as long as its constructed well?

Can you write songs and make records is the most important aspect of a mc to me. Then again being lyrical and making bangers aren't mutually exclusive.

I'll bump some Future if I'm drunk or partying, never sober

Jimmy Jones isn't the best rapper but I used to fuck with his music a lot from 05-08. I can respect Future as an artist he knows his limitations but damn it though that nigga wack.

Yeah honestly ASAP rocky was the first non lyrical rapper I could support. From him, I grew to like Currency. Kanye West kinda embodies this sub genre of rap tho. Not the most lyrical but amazing sonically.

Not to say they aren't good rappers they're just not your typical "booth spitter"

I thought this was always knowledgeable....in THIS Hip Hop generation.

But still...you must have talent to be a lyrical/spitter.

When you come into the realization that Hip Hop is a cultural mind state instead of being commercially neutered then it wouldn't be called "a burden of hate". But hey it's all subjective.

I can't front though. Future is okay, even if he's considered the diet version of T-Pain or T-Pain 2.0..without all the off-key singing (in terms of getting him to do hooks because that was Pain's lane at one point.)

But he's only "good" to lace hooks on songs.

You mean you used to fuck wit Max b's music...

Its not Futures lyrics that are terrible, its his lazy ass delivery. Nigga mumble in the booth like he too tired to speak up.

I respect dudes who dont fit in for whatever reasons, but I cannot respect dudes who have talent in exuding minimal effort.

Project Pat was probably the 1st cat that

really knocked that predisposition out my head

so yeah, alot of cats maybe more lyrical spitters, droppin' gems whatever, whatever,

but here's the catch

unlike those dudes

I genuinely enjoy the nigga Pat's music more, I find it more entertaining

(the main purpose of music anyway)

not to forget Juicy and Paul laced that him with the perfect production to compliment his particular style
