I'm no letting this 'European following society' tell me anything. I'm listening to my common sense and knowledge about human nature and human psychology inform my opinion. From an evolutionary standpoint, human children were meant to breastfeed for a specific period of time. At that point, breastmilk was only used to supplement other food. Then by age 2 (and that's pushing it), it ceased totally.

Let's just start with that.

BEYOND that, from a psychological standpoint, breastfeeding too long definitely has an affect on how kids view the female body. Those effects are very different for boys vs. girls...but both genders are affected. It also promotes physical dependency on mom, at the age when that should start to die down. Also, there are plenty of studies into this sort of shit and almost universally, most women in the studies admit that the main reason they still breastfed their big ass kids is because they are had a hard time with their kids growing into toddlers and no longer needed them every second of every day like babies.

I could go on, but you get the idea.
