Jason Whitlock does say dumb shit and tries to go against the grain but he does make some valid points.

As an owner, if I am investing millions of dollars into an individual I also what him to be a represenative of the team as well.

It comes with the territory. Speaking at community events, staying out of trouble, etc. Some dudes just want to get that paycheck and not take all the things that come with it. It goes both ways. And if Im cutting the check, you can either agree with it, or play somewhere else.

The tattoo thing is a little far fetched but I see where he is coming from. Image is apart of the NBA as well. And even though tatoos are okay, seeing the Denver nuggets a few years ago did change my views a bit.. Do I really have to see the Lip tattoo that Kenyon Martin has? lol. Everybody dont want to see that. We are gonna have a laegue full of Dennis Rodmans and that shit dont appeal to everybody. It can be bad for business. Too may tats on players can hurt sales, because some mother somewhere might hesistate to buy a jersey for her son or turn the game off. So it can hurt sales, but how much? I dont know.

And its not just white people. Some people just dont like looking at. But I have no idea if thats a problem worth even looking into. The NFL dosnet have that problem because of the pads.

And i see what you're saying...but peep game

My cousin played football at Michigan St, All Big 10 honrable mention, 4 yr starter...got his degree.

He went undrafted, was a grad asst for his college coach, then left football to get a 9-5

Now, he has a degree and makes 'degree' money...livin comfy but not rich or anything

He told me: Man, i shoulda came out after my junior year. Woulda got drafted, and even if i didnt make it eventually, i coulda got some BS contract makin a MINIMUM of 500k for a year or two. i can always go back to school. I'll never be able to make 500k in a year.

Thats the shyt im talkin bout.

The proofs in the pudding....we can research this. Very few players go from drafted to undrafted status in one year unles *drumroll please* they were late round players whose chances of being drafted were already poor.

You can save us the trouble by just dropping your cousins name, or we can go through the trouble of verifying his actual draft status/potential.

Lastly, your "cousin" is living comfy but not rich. He has a big 10 degree which pretty much guarantees him a job in big 10 territory. How do I know??? I got one from PSU. He has Mighican st. alumni connects AND he has Michigan St football alumni connects. That man is in no position to bitch about what he wishes he should've had. And I'm pretty sure he's not bitching. But by you using his story in a way to benefit your point of view, you're making him sound like a bitch.

It's a possibility that he could. I'm not sure what position he plays, but let's say he was a quarterback and wound up in the position Tom Brady was in and became successful. It could have happened, and I applaud him for getting his degree and a nice job to support him and his family despite it.

The difference between your cousion, who I assume was a 20-year old guy in his junior year of college going into the draft, and a 18-year old kid going directly into the draft is that your cousin had 3 years of education, the ability to get the degree easily when he had time to since he only had a year left of classes, and the chance to mature a bit to be able to make the decision he made regarding his future.

IMO I believe the NCAA needs to adapt more to NBA Rules... So many things I cant stand about NCAA basketball for example the stupid possession arrow, the stupid 1 for 1 foul shot, 2 20 Minitues Half instead of 4 10 MIN QTR., 35 Second Shot Clock, and the fact that Charging is called way too much in College Basketball.

Word even Practice squad players make close to 100K...not many people straight outta college is gonna get a job worth 100K a year right out the gate.

my nigga......

There is soooooooo much wrong with the NCAA game its not even funny. How can a sub category of a sport be credible, if the players who make it to their junior/senior year, are known as players that couldn't make it in the NBA.

That's the equivalent of going to college, getting a 4.0 GPA and automatically securing a job with a fortune 500. NCAA basketball is disgusting.

Knock yourself out: Sorie Kanu.

Never said he was blue chip, but the difference between a late round pick and undrafted is hundreds of thousands/yr

Football and Bball are totally different, but the point i was making applies in most cases: The more people have a chance to see you, the more chance to pick apart your game

Do you remember Jevan Sneed? He LITERALLY, literally, went form being the #1 overall projected pick, to undrafted, in ONE SEASON!

2010 Draft preview before that season: http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/story/11684517

How about Taylor Mays? Top 5 pick to 2nd rd might not seem like much, but it cost him millions by coming back.

Yea thats football, but i mentioned that to show you ncaa is a business and these kids need to look at themselves as a brand.

Business 101= Sell high.

You mentioning a BIG 10 degree (or any degree) in comparison to an NFL salary is laughable at best

Their minimums (i believe 300k or so) are a pipe dream to anyone with even a fukin MASTERS, let alone an undergrad degree.
