any many people i see doin bad i feel like the world bout to end.

i jus had a meetin with a credible producer who has songs on the radio and this brotha jus told me how hard it is,he aint even eatin right.

he even went as far as to tell me to stop while im young.
no matter how talented of a writer i am,this music shit aint bout to pay anyone new anytime soon

only the older workers HAVE to stay in the game cause they have nothin else

but if you young,
get out now

ya man I hear ya, really its about surviving. WTF is gonna happen to the rap game if only major labels continue to decide who is popular!? what if we continue to only let the labels pay artists?

rappers need to take THEIR CAREERS into THEIR OWN HANDS. that means they have to earn without the labels... thank god for sites like hulkshare.com and socialmusic.com... fo real. this is the future.. spread the word if you give a fuck for hip hop

real talk man. thanks for your support and wisdom

no doubt
this shit is gettin thick man

everybody with a bathroom and 200 dollars is gettin in the music biz right now and it sux.

i also have to say, jus lookin at far down the biz has got..... i apolagize to me, i apologize to all new artists tryna get in, and i apologize to all the other artists,

I KILLED THE MUSIC BIZ and YOU KILLED THE MUSIC BIZ

this downloading shit killed the game so bad.
all us who were kids 10 years dreamin about gettin in the game never even realized that the game we saw is nowhere to be found or coming to a close.

when we have come to the point where the new model of gettin music is fans coming to a site and downloading the music for free and then the artists get paid thru the site that gets paid thru adspace....that mean the music model we know is no longer existent

honestly man... NO ONE CAN SELL MUSIC ANYMORE! I hear and feel ya on that one...

which is why sites like socialmusic.com and hulkshare.com work.. cuz people don't have to buy the music! they just view a series of ads and then they get the song for free...

the fuckin strange part is the artist makes more money this way than selling songs its fucked up but true... this really is the future

tis why i been tryna network.
been puttin out ads and settin up meetings

rap is an ego driven thing. but im askin people to put aside egos and work together. because in order for us to survive these days we gotta be oir own label and be our own everything.
thats takes money, so much money that people are admitting they charge for services.

companies are blatantly lettin people know that they sell page views, song plays, twitter followers,FB friends, video views and magazine spots

payin a blog or online magazine 150 dollars for a artist spoit maybe taxing on the singluar artist,
but together,
everyone in the pot together,
150 is nothin

i see this as the future myself

Universal Music Group jus partnered with a company to do their own version of socialmusic,,,,that says alot

labels are in a down time. they not signing or spending much right now.
not because they jus gonna roll over but because they are figuring out what is about to become the new platform

The problem is that rappers are lazy.. If you want to be "special", you gotta do something other rappers don't. Back in the day, all you had to do was get signed because studio time cost a devil and a half, and you couldn't promote your shit through the internet. So once you got on you was PUT on for a while.

Now it's a different environment when everyone has a mic and a bootleg mixing program, couple that with freebeats online and you basically made the whole label situation moot.

But at this point.. You gotta make yourself special, if you rap you're doing what a billion other motherfuckers are doing.. Aint no one gonna pay you no mind. If you focus on creating an image, a nitche, rapping about something different, even the artwork and the beats.. THEN you might get noticed by Pitchfork and some other music sites that truly focus on ART. Make promos for your work, a la Kanye West with his "My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy" promo movie he did.. DO THAT. You gotta do shit that makes people see you differently.

I would never sign to a label... you lose all creative freedom to do what ya want with your music.

this what you do.. on youtube start doin freestyles over beats from songs that you know are gonna be hot, that aren't hot yet. that way when they finally become hot, your the first freestyle over that beat they see.

then if ppl love your freestyle, put a link in your youtube video description to your social music download page. then you'll earn money from every mfer that downloads your track

you dont lose all creative freedom
it depend on where you sign. notice i said indy or midmajor. i know of some nice indy situations where you get to retain most if not all your creativity. also there is p&d deals which enables you to do you to the fullest and the company is jus there to help finance. jus gotta have ya paper right to do all those things.

but even on a major there is advantages. you jus need to know how to work each situation,,,word to john fogerty.
and folks gotta learn how to wager deals.dont jus snatch up everything that is presented to you.
when i was a a young lad i was so eager to say im signed i got myself into a dumb mess and i never considered gettin back into the pro side of music until now because being a man that understands who i am and what i want to do,
i can now pick the right deal when presented to me.....

Yea you might not lose all creative freedom, but you might lose a lot. The 1st time a major label tells ya to write a song that you don't want to write or they give ya some lyrics you don't want to sing and you have to do it anyways, it kills your spirit.

Take the power into your own hands. The internet is here with sites like socialmusic.com and youtube.com... Gotta use these tools to adapt to changes. Keep 100% of your earnings and keep your creative freedom, you can't lose that way.

but socialm might not be the most appealing thing to alotta artists

earning $.001 per view doesnt seem like a big deal

no when sites start offering $.10 per view then i will see everyone flooding this platform

this is why i can see why UMG or any other giant heading this direction because they have the chips to demand more marketing dollars and pay more per point than a small company

imagine an artist gettin $1.00 per view
the game would be crazy

at .001 per view,
thats A LOT of hustle

once this sorta shit takes off there will be more in it for everybody. I think socialm is kinda new but people are still earning from it and have been for a good while. i am already paid from my music on socialm so I know it works. if you want i could help you get your stuff on and test it out you don't pay for nothin' there is no subscription.
