You can tell by what and how they say it. Punchlines, subject matter, metaphors, wit, and all the other stuff factors in. It's really not that hard to tell.

I always pay attention to that shit pusha T was saying about being in the studio w puff..I notice if rappers take the easy way out when it comes to being descriptive n word choice...lyrical rappers usually don't use the most"obvious" word or phrase that others would use..sometimes this works against them as the masses often want simplicity (see lupe fiasco)
