I still remember going to the mall to buy this cassette. Got home and let me friend Rashard dub it before I even listened to it. He brought the cassette back to me as soon as he was done and told me that the album had a surprise that I wouldn't like. He knew I was a huge Pac fan and wouldn't like the fact that Nas rapped over the same beat at 2Pac (all eyes on me). I was shocked when I heard street dreams, but knew it might be tension between Pac and Nas after that. It was but as least they squashed it before Pac passed.
One a side note I also loved the fact that Nas but the lyrics to the songs in the cassette tape album credits. I enjoyed going through the album credits, finding out who produced the songs and reading album shots; definitely a lost art today. Classic album, priceless memories. R.i.p. Rashard & Pac
Fun fact: the song Deja Vu (one of my favorite songs) was supposed to be the first single for this album until the label convinced him to go a little more commercial
