Passing me by is just a better story for what both videos was tryna do. Ironically the art of story telling joint seem to go a lil bit left to me. They rapping about some some fucked up shit when it came to women in they life but over some happy ass beat. I just thought there was something a little more off about their story shit than passing me by. It's like passing me by is about taking an L with women too but atleast the hook and drab depressing beat reflects that. Outkast hook and beat make you think some good shit going on.

You wanna talk about a record that stands the test of time. Shiieeeett this it. I fucked with art of storytelling. Dope track. But passing me by was just everything. Beats, rhymes, deliveries. These west coast niggas had bars. I didn't even know these dudes from the west. When this came out I thought these niggas was from Brooklyn. Damn I miss originality.

That song is a hiphop classic and I don't throw that term around lightly. From the unique verses, to the chorus, to the dope Quincy Jones sample, to the video where them Pharcyde cats was hangin' upside down and doing push-ups off the chain link fence and shit...LOL... classic material.
Outkast and Ricky D both have better "storytelling" songs than this one (i.e. Children's Story or International Playas Anthem)
