It is.. but thats why I fuck with it
If you grew up on 90's hip hop, great that\s your thing
but there's nothing more annoying than a 90's baby 90's only hip hop head
I think I got a good grasp on 90's hip hop, but to not acknowledge dope shit coming out of your own generation is ridiculous to me

I think that was the context I found it in.. can't remember the details though its a while back

"Fuck Real Hip Hop. That Shit Is Annoying. You Faggots Are Not Special Because You Hate Mainstream And Love Only 90s Rap. Shut The Fuck Ups" - Tyler the Creator

What do the reason think about this quote?

i love it personally.

I think the quote is funny as shit and I listen to more 90's east coast hip hop than anything else. People that listen to 90's hip-hop act like they are the "gatekeepers" and they are superior fans because they fuck with the "real shit". While I do feel that I fuck with what I CONSIDER real hip-hop everyone doesn't have the same views. I don't want to go the club and hear mos def, so we need the waka's and jeezy's just like we need the kendrick lamar's and phonte's. What hip-hop needs is better balance and there a lack of balance as far as mainstream is concerned. But you're not "cooler" because you listen to something "underground" or you're on some hipster shit. No idea is original and no artist is unknown....

So by his logic does the same thing apply to those that only like 2000's hip hop?

I bet you love it

But why?

because its goin at elitists who think only the type of music they came up on is good, and want to shit on certain music cuz its either mainstream or new, they refuse to acknowledge its possible for people these days to make good shit..

edit.

what kingdom kame said.

As for the quote he's just mad his music to weird to be accepted by mainstream hip-hop fans and too soft to be accepted by horrorcore fans

Tyler by himself>>>>>>>the entirety of the horrorcore genre

As for the quote Tyler basically summed up what the haters of this generation of hip hop subscribe to. 90s hip hop heads are the worst

There was more balance back in the 90's in the mainstream. I'm sure he would have received more AirPlay if he came out then. Instead he's borderline underground.
