all i remember is that timeout

same here. they never were the best collective 5 players in college ball. they were a great team, but vastly overrated. and the team was formed in violation of NCAA rules, so that lessens their on the court impact. but they changed fashion and got rid of short shorts so its all good.

Wrong.

5 freshmen all americans, with 1 being the consensus top player, was unheard of.

Then, freshmen playin well enough to get TO the natl. title game was unheard of.

a recruiting class with two eventual top 5 picks? A 6'8 PG?? Who was also a lottery pick?

Basically the equivalent of , say, Jared Sullinger and Blake Griifin bein on the same team for not 1, but 2 years, with Tyreke Evans as their starting PG.

SMH, Foh

I've been quietly scoping out the community board on here for a min and I just wanted to add this bit about the fab five piece. This team and 90 and 91 UNLV teams were the college b-ball version of those mid-late 80's and early 90's Miami football teams because they brought that hip hop swagger to programs that were consider straight laced. It is a shame that the school turned their backs on them after Chris Webber admitted to taking money from that booster but that goes to show you how two faced those schools can be. You play for us and we will make money (coughs exploit) off of you, but the second you slip up and take money we will shun you.

Michigans shorts were baggier than the others, but that National Title ARKANSAS SQUAD with Corliss Williamson started the extra baggy-shorts trend in college basketball...

Ummm... Which team won a chip though?

University-of-Arkansas-Mens-Sports-Basketball-1994-National-Champions-ARK-M-B-00007xlg.jpg

And which team's influence can still be seen today....

And technically -- according to the NCAA -- the Fab 5 never happened. lol.

Don't give too much of a fuck about either squad. Just facts.

But about the rest: u jokin tho rite?? No seriously, rite?

No bullshyt i was like 12 when Razorbacks was winnin, and even tho i likedtheir squad, i thought at the time

"These nggas some bamas. Ole knock-off Fab 5. Are those Cons Reacts? Them nggas bamas."

*shrug*

edit: The shorts u listed are NOT the same. Them nggas shorts (Arkansas) were not somuch baggy as they were LONG. Them shyts went straight down...wait, lemme find somethin...

Their influence was more than fashion.

Before Chris Webber, primarily only juniors declared as underclassmen. A couple exceptions (Chris Jackson in 90, Kenny Anderson in 91)

Webber blew the door down as a sophmore #1 pick...

The next year J Kidd left as a SO.

In 95 the frst four picks were sophs. (Joe Smth, McDyess, Stackhouse, Rasheed), with KG goin 5th out of HS

In 96 Iverson, a SO., #1...Shareef, a SO. #3, Marbury a Fr. #4, Antoine Walker (6), Lorenzen Wright (7), Samake Walker (9) all sophmores

These nggas, especially Webber, changed the game....literally

Oh, okay, so when you watch basketball, you focus on fashion and not the game. Aight, cool. My bad.
