Thats odd. Figured Cash Money/Young Money had him locked down. Maybe its just some sort of distribution deal for his label or something.

I reckon might not even be a music thing, but something to do with the 'Top Boy' series they keep talking about bringin back, like you say a distribution deal...

IMO musically there is no real benefit for Drake in signing to BBK, he already has his massive fanbase I cant see him gaining anymore signing with them... So I just cant see it being for music reasons, my guess its related to 'Top Boy'... On the other hand this is massive publicity for BBK and will probably get them loads of new fans, or atleast get their name out into the North American market...

That's signed to another nigga

That's signed to three niggas

Now that's bad luck"

I heard the shit was live...

if you listen to OVO radio on Apple you know that them Canadian niggas been co-signing the UK scene for a while now.. I heard UK shit on there before I hear it being pushed here so this isn't a massive surprise.

It's a good look for the culture in general.

Kardinal Offishall used to be heavy on the UK scene too back in the days, and I believe he is Canadian/Jamaican... I think because of Canada's big Jamaican population and with the obvious Jamaican/Caribbean roots in UK hip hop/grime, Canada has always seemed to fck with UK music... As we know UK has alot of Jamaican and African population too, so we share alot of similarities with Canada...

It's a weird one. I know Drake likes Grime and BBK so maybe he's just 'signed' to the crew' because I know he is still definitely under contract with YMCMB.

But YMCMB ain't his direct label doe

Maybe he's gonna drop his album and then a UK version of his album sorta like Jay-Z did with Linkin Park ? I don't know man I gotta see how this comes out....

Don't y'all have a large Jamaican population over there? I think Toronto and London are the the cities with the largest Jamaican population outside of Jamaica. And grime is very Caribbean influenced. Maybe that's the connection with Drake and them. I dunno.

Everyone black here identifies themselves as either African or Caribbean.

Don't really understand the move. Niggas stopped makin' grime for commercial reasons like 10 years ago as far as I knew.

I'm not a Drake fan but kudos to him for joining BBK. They got 2 of the best UK rap acts in JME and Skepta (both born by Nigerian parents)

JME was huge last year. Good look

Bruh go listen to that Craig David album Born To Do It.. you won't be disappointed trust

I felt the same way when I first started listening to UK urban music but it gradually grew on me. They don't ever try to emulate the States

I fucks with UK Rap. I got roasted way back when I said Wiley and them would body your average lyrical mirical spiritual rapper.

I think it's the accents and lingo that people don't get.

Because it's obviously harder to do Grime
