Man look how quick people will show their true colors. She's supposed to be a respected doctor and yet she doesn't even wait to fully hear the caller's reasoning before she's shooting it down as not being racist.

Come on, if her neighbor asked her once about something black people do, that would be one thing, but for the neighbor to go out of his way to make a "black people" comment everytime they are together? Who does that? How can there not be a racial aspect there? And I'm so tired of white people throwing the "Black people do it all the time" excuse out there for the N word usage. The fact of the matter is blacks don't feel uncomfortable with other blacks using that word. The same is not the case when whites use it. If the woman's husband really loved her, he would be understanding of that and her feelings and tell his fam and friends to curb that shit.

On top of that, not every black person accepts the usage of that word in any circumstance. There are plenty out there who will make it clear, they don't want to hear it used be it from another black, white, or whatever. So throwing out how you hear rappers using it all the time doesn't address this ladies question at all.

That's the problem with white people and the main reason why race relations never improve. They don't ever want to hear anyone else's side. They just want to jump out the gate and tell us how our feelings are wrong and how we should feel the way they think is right.

i always find it funny that there are white people that get such a kick out of using the words "ni99er" or "ni99uh". i've gotten into convos with white people who get darn pissed over the "right" to use a word that black people supposedly have the right to use. what is the obsession? does it tickle inside? i don't get it. the other thing i find funny about it is how often these white folks readily use these words when they're so-called black friends aren't around. i've had the chance to listen in on so-called friends who weren't aware of my presence. i think it must feel good to them.

anyway:

1: the issue of acceptance and identification must mean something. i personally am fine not to use racial terms that insiders of these races use to identify with each other...ie d@ygo, m@laka, etc..

2: these terms are offensive to very many black people when other black people use them, so when white people use them and say that black people use them, these white people make themselves look stupid.

Everytime something like this happens I think it's some setup or a distraction for black people. Get some semi-famous personality to drop the N-bomb and this is all the black community (political, celebs,etc) will talk about for awhile. Next they'll blame Obama for not making this 1st priority.

exactly, that bitch got on the defensive MAD quick. On another note, the stuff the caller was talking about was why I dont take certain white dudes seriously when they tell me "Im no racist I fucked a black chick" or the rarer "I dated a black chick once" because Strom Thurmond had a BLACK DAUGHTER!!!! Plus there was a case we read about in school where a white dude would repeatedly call his wife the N word (racist version) and she ended up divorcing him, and the husband claimed he wasnt a racist.
