little known fact: the supreme court in 2013 overturned a key part of the 1965 voting rights act which of course is one of the main federal laws that protected the voting rights of Blacks in the south...they even taking the laws back

His racism was put on display for all of the public to see and the bottom line is "public racism is bad for business". It was a PR nightmare, and a lot of money was at stake over his comments.
