Big difference between thirteen and seventeen. I would need an age to go off of. I would never force anything on my child once a certain age has passed. If she's sixteen, I would put all of her options in front of her, and allow her to make a decision, she's grown now, I would be doing her a disservice if I baby her knowing that she just stepped into adulthood prematurely.
