Still a dope producer, but he didn't have to declare his defection from hip hop.

I've only bought one album this year and that aint it; i wouldn't listen to something and come out to criticize it.

Actually, his last album started off slow sales wise and just continued to sell week after week until it was eventually a platinum album. Maybe thats what will happen this time. Tim is still one of the top 2-3 producers of all time.

Tried to capitalize off that drake "buzz" and shot an air ball. I'd rather hear timbaland anD magoo than this shit...and for those who slept, "indecent propasal" was a decent album

That album was ASS... Shock Value 1 was 300% better.

Yeah Timbo shouldn't make a pop album with the likes of Miley Cyrus on it and then talk about what's wrong with hiphop

I don't think he took an L because it's pop album. Ironically, this album fails because he executed what appears to be a NOW compilation i.e. a collection of singles w/ big name artists. This didn't translate into an album, but rather people just copping the singles which is why the idea is a failure as an album. I think he has a couple of mega hits on his hands. I think "Can You Feel It" and "Meet In The Middle" could be big. I hate the song w/ Miley, but I could see that being big just b/c it's Miley Cyrus.

Timbaland is not a great artist. Matter of fact, as an artist I'd say he's mediocre. He's one of the best producers ever, but his best albums as an artist were the Hip Hop albums. He's best at the other genres when he takes the back seat and just produces.

It's not technically a POP record. It's a compilation album w/ a bunch of different genres thrown together basically a NOW cd. I found it funny that he said the women who watch desperate houswives are his target audience, but his first singles really don't cater to that audience. He pitched "Morning After Dark" as a "Twilight vampire themed" record and "Say Something" is more urban.

I don't think Timbaland disrespected Hip Hop w/ his statements because everybody who posts anything regarding Hip Hop in a negative light on a message board is guilty of the same thing. They say that Hip Hop sucks, but don't really support what they consider good about Hip Hop nor do they do anything to change what supposedly sucks about it. So in essence, Timbo can't be criticized for what he said. The only thing that he takes an L for regarding his statements is that he is in a position to change what's wrong w/ Hip Hop. There's nothing wrong w/ him doing the Shock Value albums, but I think he could put together a really dope Hip Hop compilation of new and upcoming rappers and some of the vets of "his generation."
