Haiti did not make a deal with the Devil. Stop listening to the racist people at the 700 club. Haitians are part of the lost tribe of Israel if anything their hardship is caused by their disobidience by not being in the Holy Land of Israel but that's just religious theory.

Haiti was the very, very first Black independent nation of the modern world and there was not way the real devil ( the United States ) would let a nation like that thrive in there back yard.

The United States gave tons of money to dictators all throughout Haitian history. Those dictators were often corrupt and looted the treasury, and American money was used to stifle political opposition.

And for the record, the Dominican Republic is no paradise........

Disasters befall 3rd world countries because of corruption in leadership and lack of infrastructure and innovation.Shoddily constructed buildings not built to withstand the natural occurrences of their region. Poor healthcare/hygiene/sanitary standards.

We get some of the same predicaments here in America but for the most part the system set up to prevent it from going into full-scale disaster mode, usually works. We get like 300 earthquakes a day in southern California, but our previous experiences have taught us to construct our buildings with earthquake resistant engineering and made it mandatory. We get these crazy wild bridgehead every year like clockwork, but our experiences in the past have made us better prepared to fight them.

Although we clearly have had instances where it hasn't. (hurricane Katrina, etc)

I am sure that Haiti had seen times of prosperity before it was time to 'pay the piper'...oh! and for the record, you need to follow the financial times to see what is being predicted about the US$ in the coming year(s).

To get back on the topic..i'm just saying Dominica Rebublic, Cuba and Jamaica are very close neighbours to Haiti and these natural disasters, especially hurricanes, always seems to divert their path and head straight to Haiti.

They probably should take a lesson from Jamaica and get some more churches built and stop practicing those voodoo rituals....just saying!!

There may have been some "intervention", but who knows? Disasters are never good in all commonality, but to say it's "evil" could risk categorizing what shouldn't be. Haiti is going through hard times, but some it may find it "good" given certain perspectives on life.
