Not everyone chose to drop everything in their first round. There could be a HOV album but its up to the label to release it now or hold onto it for a later round.

future sales: GameFace Winnertainment – Close call, but Morgan takes this one. Both labels have a few acts capable of putting up big numbers, but a somewhat big part of the rosters most likely won’t see any plaques in the future. While the big names somewhat cancels each other out, Morgans “smaller” acts will most likely produces better sales in the future, than JaDaDon’s, which is what gives him the edge in this category. While both labels got more than a few producers, they don’t really count in this category, as they don’t release albums on they own.

future critical acclaim: The Hit Asylum – Both labels have a few artists capable of bringing home acclaim, the power of Run the Jewels (especially Killer Mike) and Scarface brings this one home for JaDaDon, as I don’t see any of Morgans artist matching the output of those. In this category, the producers counts just as much as rappers/singers, and both labels have managed to snatch up some talent here, who will be praised quite a lot in the future, but the rappers on THA outmatches their opponents.

longevity: The Hit Asylum – It’s really starting to show just how close this matchup is here. Both labels have a good balance of young talent and proven vets, but THA younger acts appears to have better future prospects to me, and there’s simply more of them as well. GFW on the other hand, while having some younger talent, seems to have focused a little more on the proven vets, compared to THA, who has an entire sub label dedicated to some of the young and potentially up and comers.

cohesion: GameFace Winnertainment – The direction Morgan was going in was a little clearer to me. For the most part, his label consists of artists who will sell decent numbers, and still get a positive response from both fans and critics, which isn’t always a guaranty. This isn’t the case at Hit Asylum. While there’s definitely acts who will sell well and acts who can produce great works of art, those two rarely combine. While GFW has the roster of a mainstream label, it seem as if JaDaDon had problems deciding whether to run his label in a similar fashion, or do a more underground focused label, and this gives Morgan the edge in this category.

album covers/tracklist: GameFace Winnertainment – Morgan takes this one, but it was much closer than it seemed at first sight. I complained about this in the last matchup, and I will do it again: the format of some of the covers where off, and in this game, the details can be the difference between winning and losing. For JaDaDon, as far as the covers go, it is really hit or miss. While there is quite a few really dope ones, there’s also some really strange ones and/or bad. The Lil Wayne one is really strange to me and the Gucci Mane just looks amateurish. Another negative here is the label logo on some of the covers, which looks somewhat misplaced, and adds to the bad first impression some of JaDa’s work gives, which is a shame, because I’m a big fan of the tracklists, which often gets ignored. JaDa did a great job at making realistic looking tracklist, while also maintain a high level of creativity, and making great use of the producers on his label, but also bringing in some outside talent to spice up the albums. And while I might not be a fan of all the covers, there is definitely a few gems in between.

For Morgan, there is a constant high quality to his art work, which gives him the victory. I like the fact that all of his covers are simple, and in this ways secures a certain consistency, without the art work resembles one another. He kinda took a chance with the tracklists by making most of them so short, but I would rather have a short and focused tracklist, which was given some thought, than a 20 tack project that looks thrown together.

All in all, Morgans high point were higher than JaDa’s, and that is what gives him the victory in the end, but JaDa proved a worthy contender, even if some of his work lacked in certain areas.

Vote goes to: GameFace Winnertainment and MorganFreemanKing with the votes 3-2

Future Sales: The Hit Asylum seems to have a fairly balanced label in terms of future sales but I question how far they can actually go. In comparison, Gameface Winntertainment also looks to be pretty strong and balanced but at the same time have a few more artists that are hot at the moment or have recently been hot. I believe this category is actually a lot closer than it looks but I will give the edge to Gameface on the strength of what have you done for me lately.

Winner: Gameface Winntertainment

Future Critical Acclaim: Both labels have a good mix of artists and producers that have the potential for lots of critical Acclaim across the board. As usual, this will depend on how well the labels are run and marketed. It appears both labels are going in somewhat different directions but with the same goal. This was another close round but I will go with Gameface on the strength of star power and potential.

Winner: Gameface Winntertainment

Longevity: Another close category. Another good mix of proven longevity on both sides. I'm really torn on this category so I have to look at veteran star power and who has been there before. I will give the edge to Hit Asylum.

Winner: The Hit Asylum

Cohesion: I like the way both labels are built. Hit Asylum seems to be structured as a Southern powerhouse and it shows. Gameface has a nice mix of both worlds and I love their balance and what they are trying to do. I just belive Hit Asylum is to strong and will work very well together to get different sounds. Another close one.

Winner: The Hit Asylum

Album Covers/Tracklist: As far as album covers, their are a few standouts on both sides. I absolutely love that Game album cover from Gameface. The problem is both labels have a couple nice covers but also have way too many "mixtape" covers during my eye test. Again, both labels may want to step it up for the next round. Something about a few of the fonts that i just don't get a warm and fuzzy on. Tracklist wise both I'm feeling both labels but Hit Asylum seems to be a tad bit more creative and thought provoking.

Winner: The Hit Asylum

Overall Winner: The Hit Asylum

Got damn this was a close round. Salute to both labels.

I don't read other Judges votes until after I give my vote. That's what makes this game great for those that play I think. Just seeing what everybody else views. Salute my judges also.

Future Sales: Both labels have very specific figure heads. And with that said, their figure heads are the only sellers. Wayne for Hit Aslum and Hov for Gameface. The rest of this category rest on the backend of the rosters. JaDaDon built a roster for strong music, if you ignore Wayne and Birdman. He has folks who will make acclaimed projects but wont sell well at all. Despite the fact he also has Breezy. While Morgan has the “IT” roster wise. He has popular acts who make “catchy” music and producers. That does it for him.

Winner: Gameface Winntertainment

Future Critical Acclaim: To me this was a no brainer. I feel as if JaDaDon’s label has more of an edge here with Slaughterhouse, EL-P, Danger Mouse, Scarface and CeeLo. You can count on them to make strong projects. And the production end is extremely solid. Morgan’s label can count on Jay & Madlin for a solid project but that’s where it ends. Not getting shit from Iggy, Kid Ink , 2 Chainz and Fergie fam.

Winner: The Hit Asylum

Longevity: The odd mix in these rosters make this category tough. There is a strange similarity I can’t describe with both labels. The mix of vets and youth make this one too close to call.

Winnner: TIE

Cohesion: I really like JaDaDon’s roster. I feel like all those artists have a 6 degree of separation feel. They mix in well despite the names. You can figure out how they would work together. Morgan’s label is just odd to me. Not trying to sound like an asshole. I get what he’s trying to do but I feel like he doesn’t have the artists for it. His label just seems all over the place and it kind of bugs me that Jay is the figurehead. I liked where he was going with Jay, Tyga, Game, Kelly Rowland and Swizzy but then theres Iggy, Snow, Kid Ink and I get lost.

Winner: The Hit Asylum

Album Covers/Tracklist: With the album covers I liked Morgan’s a lot better. Cleaner designs, short and sweet. Tracklist wise, JaDaDon’s was much better. You can tell he put a lot of thought into these projects. I didn’t like the Scarface/ EL-P ish album though. Scarface isn’t Killer Mike lol, don’t feel like that would be a good mix. However, I really thought the Jay Z album was unoriginal. Cover wise and tracklist wise you could have done so much more. I’m more vexed over the cover than the tracklist. You also have that Business Instead of Games on the Throne album as well. I thought that album didn’t seem creative as well. You did a great job with Rita/Iggy’s album as well as the Kelly Rowland album. Which is why I’m surprised your Jay Z & Throne effort weren’t as strong. The Tyga project falls flat as well.

Winner: The Hit Asylum

Overall Winner: The Hit Asylum
