It is a constant battle.

Why shouldn't they fight for their pensions? Why should the working class give even one inch to capital?

Most unions already conceded to pay cuts, hiring freezes, furloughs, etc.

Why do you demand that they give up even more?

Most state workers don't even have a diploma out here

but they want THE RIGHT to be able to collectivly bargain for benfeits and workplace conditions

its not about the union. Republicans know that unions contribute to Democrats

so they wanna bust them to hurt democrats,so corporation will have more control

this not about money because the union has already agreed to they

private sector unions collectivly bargain. plus some people say that wiscinsin

budget crisis is made up they had a surplus,but then they gave tax breaks to corporation

This is going to spread to other states because many of them don't have the tax revenue they had in the past due to the foreclosure crisis (which is causing a loss of real estate tax revenue) and the high unemployment rate (which is causing a loss of income tax revenue).

To me it just seems like the people in Wisconsin are upset because they don't want to be responsible for funding their retirement like almost everyone else in the country is already doing.

Some government workers are going to be in for a rude awakening because...if things don't get better...there won't be enough tax dollars to support their jobs.

Come to think of it, state governments are already starting to get rid of their workers.

Just look at New Jersey.

Didn't some city there just fire their entire police force or something?

but real talk, I don't get the hate mofos have for paying for govt pensions when pretty much anybody can apply for those jobs

my beef is that they talmbout gutting pension plans yet we still allowing members of congress to get the crazy pay and benefits they receive...........

they always manage to trim the federal budget on everything except their own paychecks and benefits

and funny enough, majority of these same elected folks are already somewhat welathy before they elected
