"Nas won the battle but lost the war," Carmen says, "He gave in [to Jay Z] at the end."

She would know better than I. However, she has more of a reason to be biased. But I don't see how Nas or Jay can lose outside of the lyrical battle context. Both can and do have fine women. Can travel the world. Have expensive homes and cars etc etc. Neither of them are losing.
