That so called homophobic song (Boom Bye Bye) you're referring to came out 17 years ago. It was a response to the killing of a boy by a pedophile. At that time there was a public outrage against pedophiles and some people see gays and pedophiles as the same. I see the differrence between these two 'deviants' because I'm educated, but not everyone can make that distinction. Buju wasn't even performing the song anymore. Maybe he's bigotted but it's not because of that old a*s song.

all that's besides the point.. you basically said it yourself, many people don't make a distinction between gays & pedophiles.. i've only ever heard the term batty bwoy used in reference to gay men. reading the lyrics to boom bye bye will show you the word pedophile is strangely missing. as a matter of fact, you'll be hard pressed to find any reference to an adult/child sexual encounter in the song.. a song he's continued to perform up to @ least 2004.
