That'll only happen if they treat it like a regular season and not write the show as if they're doing a final season.

I'm not even mad if this really is the end. Especially if the season is on par with season 4. Rather a fave show go out on top wrecking shit then dragged out.
A part of me is feeling a sense of enjoyment as one of my fav. shows is now coming back to tv and will be ending on a high note. On the other hand, I'm also feeling a sense melancholy because not only is it the final season, I felt like they could've done a little more with the material that was provided to them.
I read that the time of this season will jump ahead 7 years. Which means it will be set in 1931 in the beginning of the great depression. While this may serve for an intriguing watch as Castellammares War happened around this time, they skipped over some important historical events. Rothstein's assassination, the st valentines day massacre. The Atlantic city conference. I truly believe there was enough to go for at least 6 seasons. But I'm not on Terrence winter's writing team. So hey maybe the decision to end now will hate a great payoff in the end

If this season ends on a great note I'll be satisfied. I wasn't happy at first but I accepted the news, especially with a lot of shows I watched being strung out and having horrible seasons. This would be the first show I stuck with since his conception that could possibly have 5 GOAT seasons.
Has the time skip been officially confirmed yet? A montage of some famous deaths (e.g. Rothstein) would be necessary then.

I completely understand why they did Richard the way they did, but man it hurt. It hurt so bad, worse than any other TV death I think. It fucked me up. He only wanted his soul back, he wanted his humanity back, and they took all of it from him in the worst way possible.
