Food stamps may have been a good idea in theory, but anyone who's from the hood or from rural america knows that shit is chronically being abused. People are consistently using it as a long-term source of funds instead of short-term solution. You have kids growing up thinking being on food stamps is an expectation, and the cycle just gets bigger and worse. Yes, poor kids should be able to eat, no one in the right mind is arguing against that. But when you just subsidizing your bad life choices with food stamps and raising kids to think that this is like a normal 9-5 birthright, thats when the cycle of poverty increases. There have been studies showing that foods stamps contribute more to poverty than anything.
