Kendrick Lamar and simply because he's hungrier and extremely versatile. He's more of a technical rapper and he's going to get even better with time. 3K's heart aint in it like that no more (eeeaasssyy now @Stew LOLOLOLOLOL) , 3K is nice af no doubt but Kendrick will become a better rapper than him off the strength of sheer passion. He's already 2 classics in and aint eem use his Dr.Dre cheat code yet. When it's all said and done Kendrick Lamar will be on Eminem's level lyrically.... As for 3K nevermind a solo we'll be lucky to even see an Outkast album in a decade.... read it and weep.....

You think Eminem is more lyrical than 3000?

Andre 3000 and i'll tell ya'll why.

What makes Andre 3000 special to me is he is the only rapper i know who can make conscious raps not boring. He drops little nuggets in his raps that's food for thought and it's so subtle and resonating.

"She said, why in the club you don't make it precipitate/ I said why, the world needs sun/there is a war going on in this world that no man is safe from"

"If niggas all dogs/Then what do you call broads/felines in heat meowing for some yarn balls"

Technically it's not even that close to me either. When i listen to Kendrick it sounds like he tries too hard to be lyrical and wordy. Andre 3000 can say in 8 bars what Kendrick can say in 32 bars. It's that quality that GZA has also, his words and the little food for thought hold more weight with less words. I'm not taking anything away from K Dot because he is nice. Andre 3000 is just special to me though.

I'm not ready to give Kendrick that stamp just yet. Maybe when it's all said and done.

And SMH @ Em being the barometer for premier lyricism. C'mon broham. Yes, he's one of the best. No, he's not thee best. His fall off has been too drastic.

Pharaohe Monch and Lupe lyricism >>> Em's. Sorry @Sion and @Stew

Styles will change. They say change is dang-erous

As a King standing on the terrace

While his partner pointing up at the riflemen

Coward shooter, never know when your life will end

Then live like there ain't no 'morrow

And if one come then this the motto

Now I put message in bottle

You go to the nearest beach and open your car door

And walk to the place where the sea meets the land

Yeah, it's easier to run the street than walk in the sand

Hey, I'm talking young man. As if chalk in my hand

I will take y'all little ass to school

It's cool when the kids call me Sunny, the hood calls me Stacks

The B's call me honey, Hollywood calls me back

Crack and I have a lot in common

We both come up in the 80's and we keep that bass pumping

That's a nega-tive comparison, embarrassing

Unfortunate that if you come up fortunate the streets consider you lame

Ha, I thought the name of the game was to have a better life. I guess it ain't. What a shame

I don't slang. Never slung but I'm one with the slum that has a name well fitting

Plenty cheese getting. No wonder why they call it the trap

So watch your tail and I'm not kidding

The rats and mice will give advice, they say, "you can paint and draw

Get out of here. Go show them that we're more than slanging raw."

That's when I broke into my Big Rube impression

And I tried to enlighten but that night I learned a lesson

That the morals that you think you got go out the window

When all the other kids are fresh and they got new Nintendo Wiis

And your child is down on her knees praying hard up to God for a whopper with cheese

Do you B) hit the street hard with a flair

Or do you A) go to school for heating and air?

Dare make an honest living or make a crooked killing

Or do a bit of both until you're holding on a million?

Brilliant. You got one foot in, one foot out

You put your left foot back in and then you shake it all about

You do the hokey pokey til you turn your life around

That's what it's all about. 3000 out

I think its pretty obvious that 3k is one of Kendricks biggest influences.

This is the answer to the thread. Dre got bars that you wont get till years later and shit.

I had a compelling argument for Kendrick based on the success he's had crafting quality albums. But man, if we base it on "go in the booth and get busy" Andre's in another stratosphere. With respect to X-men, niggas like 3000, Lupe, Nas these niggas is class 5 mutants, verses that will sit you on your ass, consistently. Kendrick will give you that feeling at times, but not consistently. Kendrick can't freeze you like a "made Nas proud" or a "Mural" can, control is his crown jewel and it's not on the level of those works, he's always solid though, more than above average, he's just not going to blow your mind like Andre would. I know Kendrick has 2 and a possible on the classic side, but I honestly believe 3000 streaming his consciousness for 15 tracks of straight hip hop will set the world on fire.

They're both ill, Andre has the longevity and the better wordplay. I just wish he'd come with a real solo album tho.

This is what he said in that verse:

She said, Why you in the club, you don't make it precipitate?

You know, make it rain when you can make it thunderstorm

I'm like, Why?

The world needs sun

The hood needs funds

There's a war going on and half the battle is guns

How dare I throw it on the floor

When people are poor

So I write like Edgar Allen to restore, got a cord-
