Only one person with DMX so far? no love for Rakim? just because Eric B's name is on them albums doesn't take away from the fact that they are Rakim solo albums.

Oh yeah, Rakim too

Shit, well fuck it then.

Take I'll Em off and put Black Thought on there, right after Scarface

Black Thought doesn't have a solo career.

Am I the only one that thought MDTBF was WACK??? Kanye has 3 great albums imo and then after that has dropped nothing but garbage... I would put him in my list but hes put so much trash out since 'Graduation' he is disqualified, could be said for Em too tbh but alteast his last few wacks albums have had clever word play...

Im going on rappers having 3 or more classic albums (no mixtapes) to make the list... I feel like there should be more West Coast and Southern artists, if it was GROUPS they would dominate the list...

So in no order...

Pac

Masta Ace

LL

DMX

Em

Common

G Rap

Nas

Jay

Face

(honourables mention fat joe, luda and xzibit)

Yeah I thought it was awful, all the hype was crazy... I bought it and listened to it once and that was it, I think off the top all I liked was the intro or the first song or something like that... I got the impression Kanye's ego was/is so high that he thought/ thinks hes some super musical genius, like Quincey Jones, Teo Macero, George Clinton, Mozart or something, when I just thought the album was a self obsessed/superficial rubbish...

He has made some classic albums though, which show he is a great producer, especially when he is sampling great soul records and he can rap too... And he has made some classic beats for other rappers too, but for me after 'Graduation' he lost it, all the autotune and 'singing' with the help of technology, nah fck that...

No doubting he has classics though...

I AGREE ABOUT MDBTD...HOWEVER I THINK ALL HIS SHIT IS WACK TBH....GARBAGE SOLO ARTIST IN GENERAL. I ONLY DIG HIS SHIT AS A PRODUCER FOR OTHER ARTISTS.

HIS MUSIC AS AN ARTIST IS TOO OVERPRODUCED, PRENTENTIOUS & DOUCHEBAGGY FOR MY TASTE.

Yeah thats prolly the word I was looking for on MBDTF haha But I really dug his first album and alot of of his next two, I thought he was actually pretty original for the time period, especially the first one, as he was rapping about being 'self conscious' and basically wasting money to fit in etc in a time where alot of mainstream rap was about flossing and being overconfident etc but yeah after that he just became corny and wack to me... His music was far from 'artsy' like Ive heard people call it...

Daum I would think most rappers would love to have Guru's Jazzmatazz joints in their catalogue too, not to mention his Gangstarr work...

I think Slick Rick actually deserves a mention too...

Nosign.

I remember when he took 2 weeks to record his second and third albums because he was going to jail. Those albums sounded like he recorded them in 2 weeks.

1. Scarface

2. Kanye West

3. Jay Z

4. 2pac

5. Nas

6. Devin the Dude

I can't really name anymore solo artists after them, most only have 1 or 2 classics I feel like these 6 artist at least have 3 in their catalogue.

I thought 'Rulers Back' and 'Behind Bars' were strong and underrated and 'The Art of Story Telling' and 'Great Adventures' are classics imo... I didnt really check for any albums since 'The Art of Story Telling' though...
