Everyone is invited. People can battle if they want to but its more about the discussion. I'm talking to many battlers on facebook so I'm gonna try to get some new subscribers here if possible. Much appreciated @ Jay

Rough guess, how many members are u expecting to participate at the beginning? Like, will it be 1 or 2 with a crowd looking on, or...a handful who battle for supremacy?

its gonna be just like The Reason. if we have talent, and we do, we'll just make the battle threads on the spot, but its more about the battle rap culture than any talent of our own. At least 20 members probably 5-10 main posters. You gotta figure that once all the content is no longer in one thread, things will get thinned out at the beginning until we get some consistency to the new location.

or a general one altogether.

the rest will be polls on each battle and dedication threads and rumors and all that bullshit.

It could be a similar situation as the OTTB room.

Bootlegs will be automatically "spoilered' and enforced.

@Goldie will probably overlook since he was into it hardcore before me.

The vision at the end of the day would be to get actual battlers to sign up and post there and to be as big as OTBVA and reddit boards. Everything takes time, passion, and consistency tho. I'mma try to post more articles i find on battle rappers content from this site also. Kinda feed traffic to the actual front page.

I did start this battle rap shit lol , but props to my nigga @iKingGodGivBiz for taking it to the next level.

The battle rap thread received about half a million views last year and this year's gonna be about 300k, so it gets consistent traffic and participation. Now that we'll be able to use multiple threads, polls, etc, I'm anticipating an increase in the numbers. The look/format should be similar to the reason. There's going to be a lot of youtube vids posted, poll threads made, a lot of twitter/instagram post made (updates /rumors),etc.

As far as the battles between posters, 60% are keystyle, with the other 40 being video or audio. If we can get some pro battler's on here I'm sure we can get acouple interviews going, we also got a radio show we're working on that should bring in more member aswell.

I never had a problem with there being a subforum for them, but I've been hesitant because the forum we had in the past kinda died...to be fair tho, that was more likely due to the length of the 'upgrades' running traffic off, plus the forums' location at that time.

I never had a problem with there being a subforum for them, but I've been hesitant because the forum we had in the past kinda died...to be fair tho, that was more likely due to the length of the 'upgrades' running traffic off, plus the forums' location at that time.

The r&b and reviewable correct and the essence gets little to no traffic, I'm not trying to diss anybody but I think it would be pointless. Battle rap is a sub genre of hip hop so I don't see the problem if threads were made in the reason.

Battle rap has become it's own culture. Similar to how breakdancing is a part of hiphop , but it's its own culture. We have our own slang ,celebs, etc. Between the rankings,ppv's, battles we do on here, it's to the point where having our own forum necessary. Tbh, I wasn't even for it when Biz first brought it up a year or 2 ago, but it's needed now.

lol , we'll see. But if we're talking strictly numbers, the battle rap thread in less than 3 years has received 32k replies. That's more than half of the forums (RNBnAlt,QC,IT,LMR,WTE,FF,RI,RTM) we currently have has gotten since the IC returned over 5 years ago in 2010.

If we didnt FOF two or three of those battle rap threads every year wed probably be over a million views easily or close to it.

That's dope but the thread is in a high traffic forum. And technically there is already a forum for battle raps and that place is a ghost town. Maybe rebrand it.
