Alot of times the most lyrical rappers production is garbage!
For instance i love D-Block but their mixtapes alot of the times be unbearable cuz the production will be wack.
Then you got niggas like Frenchie who raps arent really much that the average dude couldnt spit yet his production is fire!

I don't really subscribe to any rule about music. It's the "je ne sais quoi" that gets me. Great production doesn't guarantee a great product. Neither does lyrical prowess. Analyzation takes away from the magic, anyway. I just like it when it takes me to "that place." By whatever means.

As for me, being a musician, I'd take average rapper on good production over the other. Poor production makes songs unlistenable. I could listen to burps and coughs over Big Sean's "My House" beat and be fine.

Naw i cant fuck wit a wack rapper but i can listen to an average rapper.
OJ for instance has cool production but i can listen to maybe 2 songs before he becomes unbearable and i have to turn that shit off.
Slick Pulla mean while i can listen to all of his mixtapes cuz he's average plus he usually has good beats.
