What are niggas saying no to?
Gucci don't deserve no respeck?
Plutarch;545257 said:What do you really think of Gucci Mane as a rapper and/or hip-hop figure? Is he a "legend"? If so, to what extent? If not, will he ever be?
I'm just curious, especially when I see IC niggas trash Gucci all the time and put him in the same category as Soulja Boy, which is ridiculous. I know niggas that trash Gucci yet have only listened to a few of his songs, which can be hit or miss imo.
If you don't like his style, I get it. But the nigga at least deserves some respect, right? I guess you could say that he's like E-40 in that regard?
His current legacy:
-Been independent and self-made from day one
-Put on ATL, from producers like Mike WIll Made It and Zaytoven to rappers like Future and Young Scooter
-Mass appeal beyond the South
-Put on others like Nicki Minaj
-Influenced a whole new crop of ATL rappers
-Not a studio gangster, certified street nigga
-Defended himself on wax against the likes of Jeezy, Game, etc.
-Average lyrics and subject matter, but good flow, humor, and unique style
-Prolific output of quality music, mixtapes and albums, street hits and pop hits
-With little major-label help, no albums have gone gold, but The State vs. Radric Davis is almost there and was number 10 on Billboard 200 chart
-Reached numer 36 on Billboard Hot 100
-Four top 20 albums on Billboard 200

The fact some go out of their way to "hate" on him comes with the territory of who he is. For some reason he makes people get all salty and they seem to resent that he has had success . Looks like some jealousy too. And jokes its kinda a knee jerk thing...I dont know why but thats how some people act about him on the internet. But dude's great/genius level at what he does. I guess that makes some feel some type of way. Shrug I just listen to what I like I aint got time for all that worrying about who I "dont" personally. Its not really a "thing" in reality as I see it though.
