Idk about the whole white girl thing but Black women isn't respected in our Culture not just the music. But these lil black boys have a fucked up perception of black women and will put any and all races above us in a heartbeat.

BLACK PEOPLE do this in general.

400 years of ass whoopings will have broken the weak and too many of our strong are dead, or in jail. The ones that are left are not united.

Black Women don't back their Man? When these dudes get locked up I know too many Sistas who bust they ass and still take care of a Grown Man in prison. Packages, visits, letters etc. Me personally I don't do that Jail bird shit u get locked up and I wasn't the sole reason? Bye...

The problem is we Hold Down the WRONG Men. But hey when there's no father figure to show u what a man is or should be then ur basically on a wild goose chase.

The father figure in the Home is soooo important on so many levels.

And just read through this thread even when y'all tryin to give props its still Bitches and Hoes smh

Ima quote Future on this:

"A bitch gon be a bitch, a hoe gon be a hoe"

But my wife & her friends greet each other like

"bitch whatchu doin?" so thats just how it is.

not saying that all women are bitches & hoes. If you dont identify yourself as either you should prolly ignore it.

Again... when Black folks stop listening to each other and white people and discover that my reply is not just a simple reply but the solution and find out that we truly are MUSLIM and not Christian/Baptist then the sooner we'll get our shit together.

But TBT, most niggaz have stopped reading by now and it's already too late

Whether we're Muslim's or not is what Dr.Claude Anderson would call a horizontal issue. Muslim, Christian, Buddhist, we're all black first. Let's find commonality in that and not what god we pray too. Because really, a lot of these brothas out here want to escape their blackness in Islam.

That's not even getting into the fact that Muslims did arguably more dirt to our ancestors than the Christians, but that's a topic for another thread...

Care to put me on game about bolded??

I thought our ancestors were muslim. So wouldnt pretty much just be more civil war type ish? Or more like genocide on race of africans like in Hotel Rwanda?

Negative. The Arab Muslims were the original colonizers.
=related

And in case you think that, that white man is just hatin, here's a lecture from one of the gods, Dr.John Henrik Clarke. Here's part 1.

Also bear in mind Arab persecution of blacks still continue to this day. The war in Darfur, Sudan was largely a clash in ideologies of Arab/African Muslims and indigenous African/Christian beliefs.

That's a myth that is easily debunked. Jada backs Will Smith, Michele backs Barack, just to take it back Coretta backed MLK. Those are all powerful unions that not only provide positive images, but help push the nation forward as a whole.

So if Christianity & Islam were pretty much improsed on African slaves, what was the original African views on religion?

Another question I have is, what was it about the African race that made them so ideal for slavery? Was it due to the lack of resources for self defense? Or just because the african race was a peaceful one just like the Native Americans?

these are questions I always had growing up. I know there was a history before "Americans picked yall up, brought yall over here. kicked yall ass, freed yall, hated yall, MLK was a good negro, who eventually got shot, and here we are today"

I have a Father in my Life speak to him daily and build with him daily. I'm speaking for 95% of my Qweens (Me and my friends don't refer to each other as Bitches that's mad Hood Boogerish) And the men I pick is based on how my father is whether its subconsciously or not that's just been my pattern and that's most women. Like dudes like chicks that remind them of their mothers its the same thing. How important ur mother is to u its the same for a daughter and her father. Love my mother with every fiber of my being but ill choose my Dad in a heartbeat if I had to.

And any chick that's thinking with her pussy is a lame Jane. When ur a teenager ur relationships are based around sex but as u get older and ur still in a High School Relationship (Fuck and "chill") then u need to reevaluate ur life.

And at what point are men gonna take responsibility for this Dead Beat Daddy epidemic? Females play a part but REAL MEN control their situation especially when it comes to their kids.

At the end of the day people always want what they cant have. Even in the white community (lol that sounds kinda like a joke) women are pressured into getting tan and having bigger lips asses and breast. The black community women are pressured to getting "good hair" and you got coons like nicki demanding black women act like barbies.

Its not raps infatuation with white girls that hurts black female fans. Its raps framing of all females taht hurts female fans. Hell the only white girls a rapper messing with is a freaky white girl what if you're a white female rap fan who's not a stage 5 freak wouldn't you be upset. Same thing with a black girl who listens to rap who dont run around sleeping with niggas left and right she might be upset at certain songs and lyrics.

Well Africa then, much like now, was composed of many different tribes, civilizations and religions of varying levels of advancement. Voodoo is one of the most popular indigenous African religions (notice how it's often vilified in pop culture). Egypt is probably the most popular ancient African civilization and is said to be one of the backbones of modern civilization. There are theories that all the Abrahamic religions (Judaism, Christianity, Islam) were partially plagiarized from Ancient Egypt theology specifically the Egyptian book of the dead which would be somewhat ironic. There are people with way more knowledge than me in the Religion and Race forum though if you're really interested. I don 't get too far off into the religious stuff cause IMO that really ain't what we need.

As for your second set of questions I think you pretty much answered your own questions. And I'll add I think Africa being so fractured into so many different tribes and groups(like all the sets and regional shit we got going on today) made it a lot easier for outside groups to come in and exploit.

Props.

And I agree with you. Brothas be downplaying just how big of an issue not having a [positive]father figure can play. That shit is HUGE.

The truth!

i disagree a lot of music rap music is belittling towards women of all races....just think not all but many rap songs are, in one form or another, derogatory in their remarks made about women....hell half the time rappers use the words "bitch" and "hoe" repeatedly in reference to basically all women...but mainstream hip hop also glorifies drugs, violence and everything else

but does music direct the culture or merely reflect it? does rap cause youth to become disrespectful toward women, or are they predisposed to abuse and disrespect women and their choice of music mirrors those values?

while i believe that music can create and affect moods, an audience's reaction to the music will also be stronger if they identify with it in some fashion. so its ultimately a cultural issue we must address... and not just within the black community because when it comes to objectifying women, no demographic in the US picture is exempt. so before we can blame hip hop we must take a look in the mirror....

life imitates art, art imitates life.

both sides of the coin CAN be blamed...

Women need to (and in many cases do) realize what rappers say is just entertainment meant for them to get the money. Most of these rappers be married and or have daughters and live different than they portray. But they say what they say to sell music.
