Are the Neptunes really that Good, Or Are They Overrated??

They are true musicians unlike a lot of producers, dudes don't really sample at all. Alot of their beats are hit or miss, i prefer their NERD stuff though.

Together, they are THAT good. Commercial hits aside, The Neptunes have created some GREAT albums:

Kelis- Kaleidoscope

Kelis- Wanderland

Clipse- Lord Willin'

N.E.R.D.- In Search Of...

^^^To me, those are the best Neptunes produced albums.

1) they are true musicians who seldom sample

2) they are mad talented; only fools would deny their talent

3) they produce hits (their songs are very often released as singles)

4) they push boundaries (which is why their stuff can seem hit or miss because of different tastes)

5) along with will.i.am & Wyclef their musicianship in production makes them mad under-rated in hip-hop. (Hip hop heads just don't get how good these cats really are...)

If you don't even put their pure Hip Hop work( which they have a bunch of classics) and put their N.E.R.D work you'll see how good they really are.

In Search Of, Fly or Die, and Seeing Sounds are 3 of the best albums I've heard musically

Their uniqueness got them by. I think that's what drew people. Musically most of the stuff were not amusing to the ear, at least to one that knows real music. However, their R&B stuff was way better and actually good and what they do for hiphop.

Sure they had some good stuff as well, but rating they receive does not match the actual talent.

I truly believe even Pharell knows this.

Pharell makes beats on his own now they're truly trash, i.e. Game It Must Be Me fore reference.
