i held out on my upgrade on the iphone5 because i wanted to see if there were any better phones on the market, but none of the droid shit really impressed me enough to go away from the iphone so yeah i'm still rockin the 3 and IT IS STRUGG-ULL-LIIING!! will absolutely get the new 5, i just hope its worth the wait

They revealed that a while ago. Nothing special really, they just implemented a bunch of stuff to catch up with what other OS have been doing for a long time.

nah, i've never used a case on my iphones and i've had two. And other than the first one that i dropped and the screen completely shattered, i've never had any issue without using a case.

I wouldn't say that's the only difference. It has a difference camera, different processor, and is being released packaged with the new OS. It really just seems like the same kind of incremental upgrade we see in Android devices. Basically they are trying to compete with Samsung and their Galaxy S line.
