cool, did you pick up any of it?

I speak 3, English, Kurdish and Turkish. Kurdish is my mother tongue so I grew up speaking it, Turkish cause I was born in Turkey so I had to learn it, and English cause I spent 3/4 of my life in America.

does anyone think that Jamaican Patois should be considered a language?

Damn right it should be.

I have relatives who speak patois, and knowing English will not help you understand what the fuck they are saying. Took me years to catch on smh.

huh. i see it as an English dialect. theoretically if you know English you can easily learn patois. its not like Kreyol and French

It is! It's a mixture of English, Spanish and French really so it is a dialect.

patois is a language...

I remember one yardie man speaking to me in it and I thought I made it through the conversation with nothing but gestures and nods, till he gave me that look like he wanted me to respond.

I was like "bedrin... imma need you to repeat awwwwllllllllllllll of dat cos mi nah lissen too gud ya knaw"
