Cannot believe how atrocious the special teams were. Is #50 still on the team? smh

We turned it on late in the 4th quarter vs. the Chargers. I believe that will carry over to this week and the Raiders will defeat the Dolphins

yeah Travis Gothel is still on the team......

I want to see Copper Carlise ass on the bench and give burn to Tony Bergstrom and how in the hell Khalif Barnes is still got a job in the NFL it's time to give the Job to Jospeh Barksdale.

I hope we come out early and put a stamp on offense, but our cornerback play is fucking killing me.

Raiders Place WR Jacoby Ford on Injured Reserve

Explosive Oakland Raiders wide receiver Jacoby Ford is done for the year. Due to his Lisfranc injury, he has been placed on injured reserve—and not with the newly implemented distinction that would allow him to return this season.

Each team can send one player to the IR in a spot that would allow them to be activated further down the road. As a sign of the Raiders' ominous start to the year, they also had someone for that roster move after just the first week of the season.

ESPN's Adam Schefter tweeted out the news

On their official website, the Raiders confirmed this news and also announced the corresponding roster moves that both cornerback Coye Francies and long snapper Nick Guess have been moved from the practice squad to the 53-man roster.

The possibility of Bartell's return is promising. While he got beat for a couple of deep plays before leaving the Week 1 contest against the Chargers, he is Oakland's No. 1 corner, and they are not blessed with a lot of depth at that position.

The news on Ford is all grim, and it comes at a position the Raiders were ill-prepared to handle injuries. Oakland rolled the dice this season when they elected not to bring in any big-name or veteran free-agent wide receivers and roll with their talented but young receiving corps.

The massive flaw of this strategy is now rearing its ugly head, as this receiving group is not just young but also injury prone.

Ford and second-year pro Denarius Moore figured to be two of the Raiders' top three receivers. Both struggled with injuries last year, and both are struggling with them this year.

Moore, who is listed as probable on the official injury report, should be on the field for their Week 2 contest in Miami. The Raiders are going to need him, and they are going to need him to enjoy a good run of health.

McKenzie exorcises thought of not-so-Holy Trinity of WRs

Despite a lack of depth in the Raiders receiving corps, general manager Reggie McKenzie said Thursday he was not interested in acquiring any of the currently unemployed veterans still looking for work.

That means the not-so-Holy Trinity of wideouts Chad Johnson, Plaxico Burress and Terrell Owens are not headed to Oakland, even with only five healthy wideouts on the roster.

"It's not just (their) age," McKenzie told the San Francisco Chronicle and the Oakland Tribune. "If the right player could add to the group…we just didn't feel those three were the right ones. Clear and simple. If I felt like they could have added something to what we were doing, I would have strongly considered it."

Currently, Darrius Heyward-Bey is Oakland's No. 1 receiver while Denarius Moore is expected to make his season debut Sunday at Miami after dealing with a balky right hamstring since June. Then there's rookie Rod Streater, who started his fifth-round draft pick Juron Criner, who is dealing with a sore right ankle, and veteran Derek Hagan, who is still learning the playbook after signing last week.

Otherwise, Jacoby Ford underwent Lisfranc surgery Tuesday that might end his season and the Raiders also have Travionte Session on the practice squad.

"It starts with a foundation and you have to have the guys around long enough to develop and see that development," McKenzie added to the newspapers. "And we do have a couple of guys…we were just hit with injuries at that position so early, especially with your No. 1 going down. Then, a guy like Jacoby, who we had plans for.

"Going into it, you felt good but you miss one guy and that can trickle down quickly. If we add guys, I want to make sure and add a guy that's going to help this team. I just didn't think those three guys were the guys."

Letting Miami whip us like that means we wont do shit this year.

Reggie needs to body himself with all the bull shit moves he made this off season.
