You would have never thought the WWE women's title would get thrown in the trash on Nitro either. Bret my all time favorite wrestler but he was wrong and Vince did what he had to do.

I don't believe Bret would have done anything less than what he said he would do (drop the belt the next night), the problem was Vince had taken previous guys at their word (Nash, Hall, Luger..) and they lied to him, when you couple that with Shawn and HHH being in his ear suggesting that Bret could take off with the strap then Vince made the decision he needed to make.

Bret was a product of being at the right at the right time.

If he came along 2-3 years earlier or later he would have been buried in the mid card.

Bret was one of those guys cut from the same mold as Malenko and a Benoit that did nothing more than wrestle well.

I remember him and Mr. Perfect put on a wrestling clinic at Summerslam '91, but only wrestling purest could enjoy a character like his.

If the Montreal Screw job indeed wasn't a work Vince should have stripped Bret of the belt before the match even started.
