I go with Jay, but Cube was nice back in the day. He had a good 3 or 4 yrs without NWA, but besides that, I can't really say much about him. I was that dude that loved the militant shit back in the days. Cube was definitely one of the dudes who were socially conscious, but to me, he wasn't...
The East without a doubt. My favorite group of all-time (EPMD) is from there to go along with BCC (Heltah Skeltah, Black Moon, OGC & Smif-N-Wessun). Add Mobb Deep, Public Enemy, Wu Tang, Tribe & the Lox...I don't see any coast fucking with them & I could go on. This is coming from a dude who...
I didn't think the Deck shit was like that, but to each his own...then again, I haven't been a Wu fan in a long time so it probably just wasn't for me.
Trap Muzik is by far the best option out of the ones above...at least in my opinion. Soul Food, Food and Liquor, and MMLP are all overrated to me, but I can't knock anyone else for their opinion. I'm just letting mine be known;
Kane all day. Rakim is dope, but Kane was that dude & Long Live the Kane is a personal classic to me & Smooth Operator is one of my favorite singles of all time...probably in my top 10 to 15 range.
Definitely a classic...even though they had other cats writing for them (allegedly) those dudes were on some other shit & Paul Revere is one of my favorite hip hop tracks of all time.
Overall, I thought the album wasn't that good. He had about five tracks I liked on it, but I've definitely heard worse. God Love Us was my joint though.
I'm just confused how Jay can be considered a legend to the majority of the dudes that are rappers or truly have a job dealing with hip hop in some aspect, but according to some cats on a website, he's not a legend. You don't have to like a person to admit their status in the game. I'm not an...
My list really doesn't change besides 1 & 2. Hov is 1 and Nas is 2. If that changes, it's because I've been listening to their old shit. None of their new shit makes me change anything. To me, it would be like saying Mike isn't the GOAT because he played for the Wizards. You can't overlook...
I can't agree with him being better than any of the so-called big 4. He might be able to ride a beat better, but lyrically, I don't see it. This is just my opinion. He is a dope lyricist so I can see why you would think so. I just don't agree.
